I need your help.
It's quite simple - I have emerged from the depressive fugue and find myself teeming with brain sparks again. Alas, I have nothing to write about.
This is where you come in. What I want you to do is give me a story topic to start with. Make your suggestion in the comments section of this post and I'll choose the 'best' one to use. I'll have a story knocked up within the week, whereupon the whole process starts again.
Suggestions for this round close on Wednesday the 17th of Feb.
Max of 5 topics per person (purely for logistical reasons). That's the only rule.
I'm hoping the can of worms I just opened is delicious.

Okay, I want to see you write something outside of your usual.
Here's my suggestions:
A story about a guy who was a lawyer, but he hates life. Over time he gets addicted to hardcore drugs, which leads to him losing his job. He grapples with social pressure he has to change, and the satisfaction he gets from just doing what he wants, and living the life he likes. He ends up living with abos on the street, moving around, builds a support network with them, and other people that mix with that community, and starts a new kind of life. In the end, he wouldn't have it any other way.
A story about a girl who grew up in , never felt like she fit, and ran away at a young age, but got brought back home, eventually moved out of home at 15, and found support in gangs. Eventually she out grows the support of the gangs, and moves on to live the kind of life she wants.
A story about an Australian immigrant who moved here in the 70s. She wants to have the life she couldn't back home, and is forced to struggle and fight and make something of herself. She's exposed to heaps of racism, some of it veiled some of it blatent. She succeeds in life, gets a degree and a good job, but in the end, she feels like she's missing something, like the place she came from had some kind of purity to it. When she goes back, she doesn't see everything bad, only the good bits.
A story about an aboriginal girl, who was removed from her tribe (in the 60s) when she was young due to molestation and exploitation. Only to be moved around the foster care system, from one horror story to the next, continually being exposed to further molestation and exploitation, until she leaves home at a young age.
A story about a transgender prostitute living in Adelaide in the 70s. When he's younger he wants to be a girl so badly, that he eventually starts dressing like it, then begins surgery. He finds he looks pretty good and becomes comfortable with himself. He picks up men just as easy as the women prossies, but gets beaten up if they find out he was once a man. He stops letting people know, until one day he becomes comfortable again. Only to be killed by 2 police officers.
Make it depressing, make it something that could happen, and try to represent them well.

Seriously, if you write some average happy go lucky uplifting usual politically correct piece of shit, I'm going to stab you, scrawl on your wall in your blood "I WILL WRITE MORE PROVOCATIVE/INTERESTING WORK", then get someone to write a story about this.
